The Kenya Airport Authority has issued a public auction notice of unserviceable items motor vehicles and stores.
In a statement published by the KAA in a paid advert, the company issued a public invite calling on any interested bidder for the public auction.
“Kenya Airports Authority invites interested bidders for Public Auction of obsolete and unserviceable assets,” they stated.
The company tasked Keysian auctioneers as the appointed auctioneers.
The viewing dates for the items are set to be from September 12 to 14, 2023 (working hours) while auctioning dates are set as from September 14 to 16 at the Airports venue.
Items to be auctioned include used furniture & seats, fire extinguisher cylinders, computers & other ICT equipment, general electro-mechanical parts, general building hardware materials and used motor vehicles.
“All the interested purchasers will be required to pay a deposit of Sh25,000.00 per lot or item on auction,” the notice further states.
Where the bid price is lower than the deposit price, the bidder will be refunded the difference between the bid price and the deposit amount on the presentation of the receipt.
However, where the bid price is higher than the deposit, the bidder will need to pay not less than 25% of the total value.
“The Balance must be paid within 24 hours failure to which the award will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited and the item sold to the second highest bidder,” the notice stated.
All purchased items shall be paid for and collected from respective Kenya Airports Authority premises within seven days from the date of the auction failure to which, the Authority will charge storage at a rate of Sh500 per day until collection.
KAA cautioned that if the items are not collected by successful bidders within 14 days, the items will be forfeited to the Authority.
