Although some of Raila Odinga’s close allies are still adamant that his long-term goal is to form a formidable opposition that will give the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration sleepless nights, there is a belief that there is more than what meets the eye in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.
For a man who built his political profile fighting injustices and going bare-knuckle with past regimes, Raila’s recent moves have left even his staunch supporters puzzled over his ultimate goal. And leaders within his camp have openly embraced the new administration and have been working with Ruto’s foot soldiers.
For instance, a group of elected leaders from his Nyanza backyard and some from the Jubilee Party, an affiliate party of his Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party have embraced the new administration under President William Ruto.
