Nine teams competed in the final Baseball5 event of the year in Kenya. The Wrecklers won the title without losing a set.
The Mid-Season Baseball5 Championship was played at Multimedia University of Kenya with nine participating teams. The Wreckers won the title without losing a set, defeating Kenyatta University 11-3 and 12-3 in the final of the 17 games played.
The nine teams opened the tournament with a group stage, while eight teams moved to the knock-out bracket. Wreckers defeated Multimedia University of Kenya B; Multimedia University of Kenya A and Kenyatta University en route to the title.
Kenya is No. 14 in the WBSC Baseball5 World Ranking, with a total of 1,046 points. They were runner-up in the African qualifier in 2022 and finished eighth in the maiden edition of the WBSC Baseball5 World Cup, hosted at El Zocalo in Mexico City, later that year.
Kenya’s next Baseball5 championship will be held at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Nairobi, on January 27-28 next year.
